Ingredients

  • 2 sheets (1 box) puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons chopped rosemary
  • 1 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • salt
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Carefully unfold the first pastry sheet onto a cutting board and brush with butter
  3. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, and 1/2 tablespoon rosemary.
  4. Add a dash of garlic powder and salt across the length of the pastry
  5. Fold the sheet in half upon itself.
  6. Brush the top of the folded sheet with beaten egg, and repeat the process with rosemary and grated parmesan cheese, garlic powder and salt.
  7. Use a knife to cut the pastry into roughly half inch strips.
  8. Twist the strips at each end in opposite directions creating a spiral effect. Stretch the strip slightly and pinch each end as you place the strip onto a sheet pan lined with parchment paper or a silpat.
  9. Repeat until your pan is full of strips, placing each strip about an inch apart.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until straws are lightly browned.
  11. Remove from oven, Allow to cool for 2 minutes, and serve.
